Here are some pics that have the attachments needed to do Rosettes. I agree, Sylvan's plate is much better and I am going to make one for mine.

Dave, that looks kind of like the set up that already comes with the Microfence. Sylvan's set up allows the router base to rest on the work surface thus making the entire set up a bit more stable. The only drawback is that you can't get it to cut a small enough radius for a classical rosette using the set up that Sylvan did. I imagine you could modify it in some way to make it cut a smaller radius. |

The micro-fence alone (MFC-model A) is $179.95. In the pics it shows the Center Bar and Leveler Kit (36/KIT) which is an additional $39.95 and the Sub-base assembly for the PC7310 / 310 for $29.95. I agree Sylvan's idea is much better and I am going to make one. I haven't had a chance to really play with this thing yet. However, from my brief observation, the levelers, and the weight of the PC310, (with the fence/base weight) seem to make this pretty stable "as is". Plus, as is, it will make circles smaller than 3.5" (which Sylvan states is the limit with his jig). It certainly is a Vast improvement over the Dremel and S.M. jig which had no weight and no real precise measuring control. |

Dave, so that clear plate came with the fence? I thought they came with a black metal base as is in their photos.

Dave - My problem with Micro Fence's solution is not really stability but the fact that the entire router sits up in the air making it next to impossibloe to use 1/16" router bits for purfling lines. The router needs to be as close as possible to the material and Micro Fence's solution does not give you that. However, if you are not using small bits then it is fine. |

Yes, they now sell the clear plate which is pre-drilled for the PC310, ($29.95), very expensive in my opinion. Unless I was supposed to get the metal plate and got ripped off! Maybe I should give them a call...yikes! |

I see in another post that the pc-310 is the laminate trimmer to use. May be I'll just designate my dewalt to the binding jig from guitar jigs.com. |

Yes you do....really odd that it doesn't come pre-drilled. On another note, I find that the clear sub-base has a bit of flex to it, I would like to see it in aluminum myself, then I think it could sit above the work surface, you could still see what your doing and it would be rock-solid. |
